Alex Flagstad

Alex Flagstad is a Los Angeles-based producer, music director, songwriter, and guitarist.  Over the course of his decade-long career in the music industry, Flagstad has developed a wide range of skills in the live space, from music direction to MIDI routing and show programming.  He currently acts as musical director for several internationally touring pop artists - Hunter Hayes, Morgan St. Jean, and Upsahl, to name a few. An employee of the music direction company Spacebar Society, he has also contributed to live shows for artists such as Bebe Rexha, 5 Seconds of Summer, Why Don’t We, Surfaces, and others.

In the studio, Flagstad has produced and co-written a number of songs that have gone on to see viral success, including Morgan St. Jean’s “Not All Men” and “Energy (Lucky Me)”.  He has produced songs for countless pop and alternative acts (Morgan St. Jean, Ashton Irwin, Sophia Scott, Kit Major), and his work has amassed over 100 million streams across platforms.

As a sideman and session guitarist, he's performed and recorded with a range of projects and artists, from John Fogerty to JoJo.  Most recently, he has been touring all over the world, playing sold out shows with Hunter Hayes and Morgan St. Jean. His playing can also be heard all over Royal and the Serpent’s “searching for nirvana” EP, and Bebe Rexha’s “Baby, I’m Jealous (Stripped)”, amongst others.

Flagstad graduated in May 2015 with a BM in Popular Music Performance from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music.
